CARE FOR YOU POWDER COATED ITEM
Powder coating produces a much more scratch resistant surface than paint. Cleaning your powder coated item is very simple. Thoroughly rinse the part with water to remove any excess dirt or grease, and then wash with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Be sure to use plenty of water to prevent any abrasive material from being trapped under the cloth and scratching the surface. Rinse thoroughly and let dry. A chamois may be used to speed the drying process and reduce the possibility of water spots.
Wax, abrasive cleaners, degreasers and other associated chemicals are not recommended for powder coated finishes for several reasons. If you contaminate the coated surface and later scratch the part, the entire finish will need to be removed in order to recoat the part. Some chemicals may react with the finish and blemish the item, also resulting in a complete removal of the coated item to recoat.
As with all finishes(paint, chrome, etc.)care should be taken to prevent the powder coated part from coming into contact with any type of abrasive material, such as dirt, gravel, or concrete. Fine scratches can be removed by either recoating the part, or wet sanding and buffing like regular paint.
